Why is a Screening Appointment needed before a full ADHD Assessment?

This is a call with the parent or guardian. It usually lasts 1-1.30 hours. The screening call will:

  • Assess whether ADHD symptoms are present and impairing daily functions.
  • Check if there are any other possible causes for the challenging behaviours.
  • Advise and signpost to other services if it is clear that other services would be more suitable

We do this to make sure that it is worth going through the full assessment, and to save time and cost where another service would be better suited.

If your child has any of these symptoms:

  • Inattentiveness - struggles to focus
  • Hyperactivity - lots of excess energy they struggle to contain
  • Impulsivity - acts without thinking

Get in touch to arrange a screening call to see if this is the right service for you and your child. ADHD symptoms can present differently in each child, so if you are in any doubt please get in touch.
